New Storm Water Design Tools from the City of Santa Rosa

The City of Santa Rosa is going gangbusters in their approach to integrated water management.  Tools that align with storm water best practices could not be more crucial.  Designers should take full advantage of what Santa Rosa is offering: New Project Worksheet and Storm Water Calculator available for download

The worksheet entitled Determining Whether a Project Requires Permanent Storm Water Best Practices, walks the designer/developer through the process to determine project requirements related to storm water quality. The worksheet is available in both a "fill-in" and a printable version. All projects seeking discretionary approval will need to submit a completed form.

The Storm Water Calculator is a Microsoft Excel based tool to be used by the designer for qualified projects to determine the quantity of storm water that will need to be treated and/or infiltrated. A copy of a completed calculation will need to be submitted for each inlet/tributary area. Fields in yellow are input fields.

Note: The calculator is in the form of a Microsoft Excel file. Macros will need to be enabled in the software in order for links to work properly. The calculator is locked to protect the integrity of the calculations.

These tools have been created in response to the adoption of the City's new Storm Water NPDES Permit, issued by the North Coast Regional Water Quality Board.
